Haircut and beard styles separate the classic men from the riff-raff,
the little boys from the grown men, the innocent friendly guys from the
edgy sexy ladies men. Your haircut can literally make or break you, so
if you’ve been getting N100 haircuts since you were little, then I
think it’s time you found a professional barbing saloon in Nigeria and…
upgraded to something a little more mature and attractive.
Black male hair; native to Africans, African- Americans, our Caribbean brothers and some bi-racial people, can be very hard to manage and style, due to its curly, coarse and tough nature. And that can be a problem because as men, changing our hair-cut and or facial hair is one of the few cosmetic ways we can actually change the way look.
Over the years I’ve tried out many different styles and had my hair cut by a number of different barbers; some of them I would really like to forget. So I went ahead and culled a list of some of the most attractive beard and haircut styles for the Nigerian man till date.
Most of them are basically the same, with a few slight variations to cater for the different head shapes. The most popular attractive ones are the Classic fade, Mohawk, skin cut, or clean shave, The Afro, and Dread locks. And in this article I’m going to highlight some of them with pictures, so you can get your hair looking sharp and sexy too.
There a few different variations of this cut, so if you’re in doubt just take a picture of what you want along with you to the barbers.
Dreads might also be frowned upon at work and in school, so you might want to desist from this one until you’re making enough money to not need to work a 9 – 5 job anymore.

You can see another variation of Fade, this one has a flat or table top, I’ve tried it a few times but I still prefer the rounder version.
Here’s another variation. This one is a thinner chinstrap without the soul patch, and the sharp-angled shaping is very masculine and sexy.
If it’s a professional barber, ask him how nice the style will look on you before you attempt it, and ask him to give you some of his own recommendations too; he is the expert after all.
Also remember that there is a thin line between looking suave and sexy, and looking like an irresponsible attention seeker. Some styles are meant only for celebrities who make a living by looking a bit crazy, so please don’t try to imitate them.
So I think that should wrap things up nicely; don’t forget that your hair is only part of your appearance so make sure you also know the fashion basics to compliment your new hair.
Till next time.
